For over 40 years, the OJCA-OJCC Mochitsuki has brought friends and family from Ottawa’s Japanese Canadian community together to celebrate the New Year with food, activities, and performances by local talent—including the main event, the mochi pounding. The event is made possible by the tireless efforts of many volunteers, and with an increasing number of vendors from Montreal, the number of attendees has grown every year.
