We are back, sort of 🙂 !
Where: Ottawa Japanese Cultural Centre
When: Sunday, December 5, 2021, 10 am – noon or 1 pm – 3 pm
Maximum of 8 to 10 participants (if from same household) per session
In the event that the pandemic restrictions change and they prevent us from holding an in-person workshop, we will do a virtual one on Sunday, Dec. 12th and will send further details.
Cost: $5 for OJCC members; $15 for non-members

We will be making three (3) ornaments; see photos attached.
All materials will be supplied. Bring a glue gun if you have one; there will be 2-3 available on site. Otherwise bring your creativity and imagination!
These workshops will be BYOD or BYOC so bring your own drink or cup/mug. Complimentary green tea will be provided.
On workshop day, please complete COVID screening online at https://covid-19.ontario.ca/screening/customer/ and email the results to craftsojcc@gmail.com or complete a printed version at the Centre.
Everyone must wear face masks while inside the Centre except when drinking or eating. The number of participants in the Centre is limited so that we can ensure 2m distancing. The Ottawa Japanese Community Association (OJCA) is excited to bring you this Autumn/Winter 2021-2022 edition of the Activities Guide; our first since our hiatus during the pandemic. Due to the impacts of the pandemic certain details such as dates and locations are still to be determined. Periodic updates of this edition will be published as more information becomes available. For questions about pandemic measures and guidelines for a specific activity, please contact the respective group or instructor.

We will hold our 2021 Annual General Meeting (AGM) once again ONLINE for the Ottawa Japanese Community Association (OJCA) and the Ottawa Japanese Cultural Centre (OJCC).
The date we have chosen is Sunday, October 3rd, starting at 1:00 pm – 4:00pm. These will not be in-person meetings, but will instead be conducted using the ZOOM platform.
We hope that many of you will participate. So we have an attractive plan that all non-Board participants will be entered into a draw to win a prize!

On the weekend of September 18th from 9:30am to 11am the Ottawa Kendo club,
Iaido section will be hosting Goyo Ohmi Sensei from Toronto, 7Dan Iaido 6Dan Kendo for a Iaido seminar at the Takahashi Dojo, 5 Melrose Ave.
This is a unique opportunity to have Ohmi Sensei guide our local community in All Japan Kendo Federation Seitei Iaido. Iaido is the Japanese Martial art of
drawing the sword.
The beginner session will be free, no experience required.
In order to facilitate physical distance requirements we will require those interested in attending the beginner seminar to RSVP to e.chart@sympatico.ca by 16 September. Space is limited.
We will require proof of vaccination.
A signed wavier form (to be provided).
Contact tracing information will also be required.
