COVID-19 Community Support Update

In other news, if you weren’t already aware, Canadian stores are stepping up to help in these areas already. Loblaws Executive Chairman Galen Weston says in a statement that pick-up fees are being eliminated, while the cost of home-delivered items are coming down. All Shoppers Drug Mart and supermarket pharmacies will also offer free home delivery for medication.

As of today March 23rd, 2020, the following stores offer special senior services which may be helpful to our members at large:

Shoppers Drug Mart

Senior only shopping time 8am to 9am (Monday to Sunday), during the hour seniors get 20% discount on regular items.

Farm Boy

7am to 8am (Monday to Saturday) for seniors, people with disabilities, and pregnant women.

Loblaws reducing fees for grocery delivery, eliminating those for pick-up amid COVID-19 outbreak


Beginning on Monday, March 23, we’re temporarily dedicating the opening hour of stores across the country exclusively for our seniors (ages 65+), the disabled, and those with vulnerable health conditions. Opening hours will be from 7 am to 8 am on weekdays only. Please note, this change excludes Quebec.

PC Express

Offers same-day home delivery and pickup options at grocery stores across Canada, including Loblaws, Real Canadian Superstore, No Frills, Fortinos, Independent, Zehrs, Valu-Mart and Citymarket.


Toronto, Ottawa, Edmonton, Calgary and Montreal Walmart locations offer grocery delivery and pickup services.


Offers delivery in cities across Canada and some regions qualify for two-day turnaround. Costco services provinces including Nova Scotia, P.E.I., Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, B.C., Ontario, New Brunswick and Quebec.
